Filling Canals to Restore Wetlands at Sacred Sites
It Is Simple, Quick, and Inexpensive!
We Can Do This!

With Professor R. Ben Turner, LSU Oceanographer and Wetlands Scientist

Global warming is melting millions of tons of ice in the polar regions raising sea levels, and the levees and petrochemical transit canals are depriving the wetlands of sediment. The net impact is that Louisiana is losing a football field of land every 100 minutes resulting in the flooding of sacred sites for indigenous peoples, historical graveyards and faith community sites, prime fishing grounds and people’s homes. Dr. Turner outlines practical steps we can take now.
