  7. HB 312 (Carter): Provides relative to liability and damages resulting from carbon sequestration. Why: Protects the public from shouldering the burden of industrial damages.
  8. HB 384 (McFarland): Louisiana Renewable Energy Development Act. Why: Creates a framework for development of renewable energy.
  9. HB 454 (Mack): Requires a local election for the approval of carbon dioxide sequestration within a parish. Why: Allows a citizen voice in CCS projects in their area.

Oppose

  1. SB 154 (Allain): Renewable energy leases require higher standards than fossil fuel leases. Why: It is important to advance renewable energy for the wellbeing of the earth.
  2. HB 172 (DeVillier): Reduces severance taxes on oil. Why: Industry should pay fair taxes for extraction.
  3. HB 203 (DeVillier): Tax exemptions for oil and gas industries. Why: Industry should pay fair taxes for extraction.
  4. HB 453 (Mack): Move CCS injection wells to the Gulf of Mexico. Why: Fails to protect the Gulf from damage and potential hazards.
  5. HB 465 (Hodges): Open scenic rivers to development. Why? Critical to protect our pristine waters for hunting, fishing and recreation.
